4K a year 2 days ago 2 days ago 2 days ago What is the Job? Inspects material after it exits the paint booth for quality issues such as pinholes, runs, streaks.
If significant quality issues are spotted, product is to be marked for rework.
Good parts are marked with a B to be taken to the buffing area and bad parts with an R to be kept on the paint line to be reworked.
Accurately records quality data on designated reporting sheets and enters the information into necessary computer programs.
Performs quality tests including but not limited to crosshatch, mil thickness, pencil hardness, cure, and gloss.
Actively watches for major quality issues and reports any discovered to the Department Lead immediately.
Can locate, read, comprehend and execute proper work instructions.
Understands Quality Management System as it relates to their job including indentifying, processing and labeling of non-conforming parts and preventative and corrective actions.
Acts as a resource for others in the department concerning quality and other simple production issues.
Operates small hand tools including, but not limited to quality test equipment (calipers, gauges, etc.
) as necessary.
Ensures work areas are accessible and safe for employee and customer traffic by maintaining a clean work area at all times.
Establishes efficient work flow based on product and task.
Efficiently uses quality testing materials and other supplies and notifies the correct person when supplies run low.
Properly wears required Personal Protective Equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
What you bring:
Knowledge of quality inspection standards normally acquired through six (6) months experience in a similar position required.
Must have good attention to detail in order to visually identify minute imperfections or defects.
Proficiency with computer use including word processing and spreadsheet programs.
Must have good data entry skills and accuracy.
Previous experience with small hand tools and quality inspection tools is beneficial.
Ability to work in a team or independently.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
