Manager, Manufacturing Engineering - PRV (WI)

General
Summary:

Provide leadership in the management of all manufacturing, industrial, and quality engineering functions for the respective business area.
Duties include complete management of all manufacturing activities to include:
machine analysis for productivity & process improvements, manufacturing based validation of all product designs and redesigns to ensure manufacturability, test and quality assurance, continuous improvements on lean implementations, and shop floor automation.

Additional responsibilities include leadership and technical expertise in the pursuit of manufacturing excellence.
Leads the department in identifing and pursuing continuous improvement opportunities to include:
product quality, production productivity, material utilization, material yield enhancements, assists with safety and environmental compliance, employee involvement and new product introductions.
Accountable for the development and management of capital and budgets/plans for respective business units.

Principal Duties &
Responsibilities:

  • Manage process and equipment needs that support production to maintain target schedule attainment, quality, and productivity requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise to manage cost, quality and customer service while ensuring safety and compliance with government regulations.
  • Provide leadership in innovation through the application of advanced manufacturing and lean principles.
  • Manage the entire capital investment process and productivity budgets for applicable business area.
  • Investigate, purchase, and support the implementation of tooling and equipment for future strategic initiatives.
  • Leads the applicable business area in the analysis of all existing production processes while incorporating Lean principles.
    Including:
    • Material utilization
    • Quality compliance
    • Material flow and throughput
  • Recognize and propose design changes to improve manufacturability.
  • Lead, support or participate in value engineering initiatives.
  • Manages machine capacity analysis for the applicable business area.
  • Manage Lean strategy for applicable business area.
  • Hire, manage, support, and develop support staff.
  • Oversee the evaluation, justification, and implementation of new machinery purchases, plant layout changes, and facility expansions.
    Support finance in the development of accurate labor and material costing efforts.
  • Lead the development, prioritization, and implementation of annual productivity improvement plans and budgets.
    Monitor the achievement and measurement of factory labor and productivity levels.
  • Develop strategies for material utilization, material planning, and inventory accuracy.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, auditing, and continual improvements of the quality management system, policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of new/current time standards/routings, and costing.
  • Supports safety initiatives.
  • Direct documentation of all manufacturing related standard operating procedures within the applicable business area.

Business Unit Specific Duties &
Responsibilities:

  • Lead PRV automation journey.
  • Provide manufacturing input into PRV strategic planning process, as required.
  • DFMA activities with product engineering, marketing, MDC and operations to meet all required stakeholder needs.
  • Lead DFMA and PFMEA activities.
  • Understand the customer value equation of Benefits Price, the Greenheck value equation of Price Cost, and how that relates to a Benefits Cost approach to business decision making.

Job
Qualifications:

Work requires a professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, which is equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regular four-year college degree in an engineering discipline.
A Master s Degree in a related field is preferred.

Minimum 10
years of experience in a manufacturing environment is required.

  • Strong project management skills required.
  • SAP Skills is a plus.
  • Lean expert.
  • Possess advanced experience in plant layout.
  • Intermediate AutoCAD skills required.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrates high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills.
